Forsyth Central High School band boosters will again play host to dozens of winter guards and indoor drumlines this weekend during the Sawnee Mountain Invitational.

Now in its fourth year, the event is expected to draw dozens of the offseason versions of the groups that also participate in marching bands during the fall.

The winter organizations allow the members to keep up their skills during the offseason, while also taking part in highly competitive events.

The two-day event this weekend, which will feature some 60 groups from across the Southeast, is open to the public.

Groups from Forsyth Central, Lambert and South and West Forsyth high schools are scheduled to compete.

Saturday's competition kicks off at 10 a.m., with the last group scheduled to perform about 9 p.m. Sunday's activities begin at 1 p.m. and run until about 5 p.m.

Tickets are $8 for one day or $12 for both days. Children age 5 and younger are free.

Parking will be available at the school. Organizers ask that attendees not park at the Cumming Post Office.
