The Forsyth County Board of Education has renewed the contract of Superintendent Buster Evans.

Evans, who joined the system in 2007, will not receive a pay raise as part of his new, three-year contract.

Evans will maintain his current annual salary of $187,187 through the duration of the deal, which expires on June 30, 2014.

In a 5-0 vote, the board approved the contract during a meeting Thursday night.

The school system, which began the 2011-12 year on Thursday, has 35 schools and a student population of about 36,700.
