DAHLONEGA — The administrator of Northside Hospital-Forsyth will be the speaker for the University of North Georgia’s summer commencement on Aug. 2 at its Dahlonega campus.

Lynn Jackson, who grew up in the metro Atlanta area, has more than 30 years of clinical and administrative health care experience, according to a news release from the college.

Jackson is a registered nurse with a bachelor's degree in nursing from the Medical College of Georgia at Georgia Regents University and a master's degree in health care policy and administration from Mercer University.

Jackson has held a number of health care leadership roles, including vice president of nursing at Georgia Baptist Medical Center and administrator of Meriwether Hospital and Nursing Home.

Jackson also is a member of the Lanier Technical College board of directors and the Forsyth County Development Authority.

She is active in the Cumming-Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce and chairs the Healthcare Association of Forsyth County and the board of directors for Bald Ridge Lodge.

The ceremony, which is set for 2 p.m. Aug. 2, will honor graduates from all four of UNG's campuses. Tickets are required to attend.

Students who have applied for summer graduation can pick up graduation packets, which include their designated number of tickets, beginning Monday at the bookstore on their home campus.
