SOUTH FORSYTH — An elementary school student in south Forsyth recently won the 2016 State Social Studies Fair in his category.

Brady Hutchinson, a fifth-grader at Daves Creek Elementary School, was named Best in Class 1 Economics winner, according to Jennifer Caracciolo, spokeswoman for the school system. His directing teacher was Tegan Bombard.

There are three levels of the Georgia Social Studies Fair, which is put on by the Georgia Council for the Social Studies: county, region and state.

Hutchinson’s project, “What is Child Labor’s Effect on the Economy?” placed first at the regional event, where he was one of 32 Forsyth students.

Just 16 students in fifth-12thgrades were selected from his 48-county region to compete at state, which was held at Clayton State University.
