FORSYTH COUNTY -- Another group of teenagers will take their turn throughout the next few days to walk across the stage, shake the hand of their principal and turn their tassels as their high school careers begin to become part of their past.

Six schools in Forsyth County are set to graduate their class of 2016 beginning tomorrow, with the ceremony for Pinecrest Academy commencing at 10 a.m. at the private parochial school’s Upper School gym at 955 Peachtree Pkwy.

According to Vivian Heard, communications coordinator for Pinecrest, 67 students will graduate.

As many as 2,737 seniors may graduate from public schools in Forsyth County in the next week.

Forsyth Central High School will also send off their seniors at 10 a.m. tomorrow. Their graduation will be held at the Cumming Fairgrounds in downtown Cumming.

Central has 416 seniors, according to the most recent enrollment report from the school system.

Ceremonies will pick back up after the long Memorial Day weekend with Lambert High School at 2 p.m. and South Forsyth High School at 7 p.m. at the Infinite Energy Arena in Gwinnett County on Tuesday, May 31.

The two are the district’s largest public schools, with Lambert recording 687 seniors and South 596.

West Forsyth High and North Forsyth High schools are scheduled for 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 1 at the Infinite Energy Arena, respectively.

West’s graduating class should be about 520, while North could turn up to 492 tassels.
