Forsyth County Schools

The Forsyth County Schools System announced Sunday night that the district will start schools two hours later than usual Monday morning.

Buses will still run and lunch will be served. The normal release times will not change.

The start times are as follows:

Elementary I: 9:40 a.m.

Elementary II: 10:20 a.m.

Middle School: 11 a.m.

High School: 10:25 a.m.

Elementary I: Big Creek, Brandywine, Brookwood, Chattahoochee, Chestatee, Coal Mountain, Cumming, Haw Creek, Kelly Mill, Matt, Settles Bridge, Sharon, Shiloh Point and Vickery Creek.

Elementary II: Daves Creek, Johns Creek, Mashburn, Midway, Sawnee, Silver City and Whitlow.

An email from the district Sunday night also stated that 240-day staff should report at the normal start times.

A mixture of snow, sleet and slush made for some problematic commutes Friday, leading to the early closure of county schools, county government and the city of Cumming as temperatures plummeted toward the mid-20s Saturday.
