Forsyth County Schools Chief Financial Officer Chris Griner is stepping down from his position at the end of June, according to the school system.
According to school system Director of Communications Jennifer Caracciolo, Griner resigned to pursue an opportunity in another state.
“While Chris was only with us for a year, he did a fantastic job of acclimating himself to our school system and community,” Caracciolo said in an email to the Forsyth County News. “He has continued the tradition of effectively managing our financial resources and worked with all departments to produce an efficient FY’20 budget proposal.”
Griner took over the position in January, when former Chief Financial Officer Rick Gunn went into retirement after 25 years working for the system.
Caracciolo said that the system will begin the search for Griner’s replacement immediately.
