The Goddard School of Cumming held a groundbreaking ceremony Thursday, Oct. 17, on a 4,000-square-foot expansion of the campus at 5416 Bethelview Road.

The new facility will include three classrooms and a STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) learning center, according to the school, along with an area for music and drama activities.

The expansion will allow the 13-year-old preschool school to accommodate more than 75 new students.

The school is also expanding its toddler play area and outdoor area for preschool-aged children and older while adding an outdoor sport court area to play four-square, basketball, volleyball, tennis and more.

“We would not have been able to accomplish this without our excellent administration, which has been with me for so long, said Jean Croft, on-site owner. “We are thrilled that these amazing changes to the school will continue to help us serve the great families in the area for years to come.”
