Midway Elementary School will celebrate its 50th anniversary with a celebration Sunday afternoon.

The event will feature several homages to the school’s history, including a slideshow, recognition ceremony and stories from former Midway teachers and students.

There will also be a "Decades Walk," with murals on the walls commemorating each of the five decades.

Visitors can also enjoy performances from Midway’s chorus and Forsyth Central High School’s Flash of Crimson drumline.

The event is set for 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. at Midway Elementary, 4805 Atlanta Hwy.

Additional parking will be at the nearby Publix, with a shuttle available.
