Keep Forsyth County Beautiful is looking for volunteers as its mobile trash unit initiative gears up for a second year.

Launched in 2010, the program targets roadside litter across the county.

Two different opportunities exist for people to get involved, a family mobile trash unit and one for high school students.

“The program received very positive feedback from the volunteers who participated," said Kevin Smith, community outreach specialist with the agency.

"We are definitely looking forward to growing the program and to having another great year.”

Family cleanups are designed for volunteers of all ages and groups of all types. They meet at 2 p.m. every third Sunday.

The high school unit provides students with monthly service opportunities. It meets at 4 p.m. every second Thursday.

Dates for family cleanups include: Feb. 20; March 20; April 17; May 15; June 19; July 17; Aug. 21; Sept. 18; Oct. 16; Nov. 20; and Dec. 18.
