The Lanier Photographic Society will present its first photography show, “Best Shot,” on Wednesday night at the University of North Georgia’s Cumming campus.
About 25 works from members will be on display in the first floor community room, where the group meets each month, said member Sandra Sullivan, who is also a photography instructor at the campus.
“We’re new in the area,” Sullivan said. “We thought it’d be a great way to introduce ourselves.”
The recently formed club of photography enthusiasts started from a group of instructors and students in the university’s continuing education classes.
Most of the members live in Forsyth County, she said, and their levels range from amateurs to people with 50 years of experience.
Anyone with an interest in photography is welcome to attend or join the monthly meeting, held the first Wednesday of each month at 7 p.m. This month’s meeting is the show.
The works on display include portraits, landscape, fine art and still life, among others, Sullivan said.
For those who attend the free show, she said they likely will “enjoy seeing the work of their neighbors.”
