Pinecrest Academy hosting speaker on kids and the internet Sunday
Pinecrest

SOUTH FORSYTH -- With children becoming increasingly exposed to the online world at younger ages, parents are now thinking of how to broach the subject of the internet in new ways.

To help with this, Pinecrest Academy will host Christian speaker Matt Fradd Sunday from 6:30-8:15 p.m., who will deliver a talk on “Parenting the Internet Generation.”

The event will be open to parents of children in kindergarten through fifth grade and will be held at Pinecrest’s lower school dining hall at 955 Peachtree Parkway.

Coffee and dessert will also be served.

The talk will focus on the possibilities and pitfalls of the internet, work to “empower parents to form within their child an internal filter for the unfiltered world” and teach parents the best online tools to help them protect their child, according to a press release.

Fradd is also expected to speak about how parents can talk to their elementary-aged child about porn and human sexuality and “give parents hope in an area that can seem overwhelming.”

Fradd, an internationally-known author who speaks to nearly 50,000 people each year, has been a guest on ABC, BBC, EWTN and Catholic Answers Live.

He holds a philosophy degree from Holy Apostles College and founded the websites The Porn Effect and Integrity Restored.

Fradd is originally from Australia, but lives with his wife, Cameron, and their four young children in Cumming.
