A reminder to parents and others: The Forsyth County school system will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day.
Students, teachers and staff members will be off for the holiday, but the district is using the holiday as a teachable moment.
“During this holiday, we will pay tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers,” said Jennifer Caracciolo, school system spokeswoman. “As the largest employer in the county, we are thankful for our dedicated staff members and their contributions for continued student success.”
Classes will resume at their regular time Tuesday.
The 2012-13 school year began Aug. 9. According to the district’s calendar, the next scheduled student/staff holiday is Oct. 19.
