Spring break begins Monday for the more than 39,000 students in the Forsyth County school system.
The break was originally slated to begin Friday, which was listed as an inclement weather day for the district. However, due to winter weather earlier in the year, Friday was needed as a makeup day.
“We automatically have school on the first inclement weather day listed on the calendar,” said Jennifer Caracciolo, system spokeswoman.
“The next and final inclement weather day is April 26. Since we did not have school closed for a second inclement weather day this year, students and school-level staff will be off this day.”
“We hope that our Forsyth County School staff, students and their families have a happy and safe spring break.”
The spring vacation, which runs through Friday is the last major break for students until the school year ends May 24.
