Anybody with a motorcycle, antique car or even a minivan can participate Saturday in the second annual Ride for Will.

The event benefits the Will Davison Scholarship Fund in memory of Lambert High School Principal Gary Davison's infant son, who died in July 2007 from Sudden Infant Death Syndrome.

The event raised $8,400 last year and brought out more than 75 motorcycles and antique vehicles.

This year event organizer Cathy Bentley said "mamas with minivans" are welcome to participate as well.

Bentley, a home day care owner, said the infant was under her watch when he passed away. She puts on the event "as part of the healing process."

Those wishing to attend can register by contacting Bentley. She said the first 125 entries will get T-shirts. Door prizes also will be given away.

Registration also will be available the morning of the ride, which begins at South Forsyth High School on Peachtree Parkway and ends at Paul's Margarita Deck in Helen.

Police will escort the group through Forsyth, Dawson, Lumpkin and White counties.

Once in Helen, there will be drawings for a three-night stay in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., a tennis bracelet valued at more than $3,000 and a guitar autographed by 1970s rock band Styx.

Another fundraiser for the scholarship fund was held last month, where students, staff and parents at Settles Bridge Elementary School joined in to raise money in a 5K walk.
