About this series

Scholastic Student Spotlight is a bi-monthly series brought to you by Lennar Atlanta where the Forsyth County News spotlights local students and their scholastic achievements and future goals.

Name: Brook Goodrow

School: Forsyth Central High School

Grade: Senior

GPA: 3.62

Classes: Taking anatomy now as an intro course for her post-secondary learning and career

Next steps: Go to Lanier Technical College’s Forsyth campus for its physical therapy assistant program.

In school: FCCLA for four years; Beta Club for three years; buddy for the food and nutrition special needs class; soccer for three years; volleyball for one year; currently is the kicker for the football team and the first female athlete to score a point for the varsity team.

Out of school: Helps her mother with volunteer efforts, including a Christmas giving program; packs boxes at Central’s food pantry for students who need food over the weekend. “I love helping people out.”

Future goals: Go to Lanier Tech to become a physical therapist assistant and work at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. “I’ve been in physical therapy a lot my whole entire life because of sports, so being around the CHOA environment of physical therapy is something I really enjoyed. So not only did I look forward to going there to go and get better, but to be around those kinds of people.” She is also set to begin training in January for a fitness and physique competition in May.
