It’s an unusual week in the Forsyth County school system.
Friday is a school holiday, but both today and tomorrow are early-release days for parent-teacher conferences.
“With the close of the first nine weeks, it is an opportune time for parents to meet with their child’s teacher to discuss progress,” said School Superintendent Buster Evans. “We have many schools that also host student-led conferences during this early release time. These two types of conferences play a very important role in a student’s development and academic success.
“We know how important the parent-teacher relationship is to the student having a great school year.”
Normal school hours will resume Monday, after the three-day weekend.
“Though our administrative offices will be open on Friday, our school-based staff and students will be off,” Evans said. “We hope they have an enjoyable and safe weekend.”
