One Forsyth County high school sudent recently found out she will travel to Germany this summer after being awarded a study abroad trip.
South Forsyth High School junior Christine Yang won the AATG/Pädagogischer Austauschdienst Study Trip Award, placing her among 43 other students selected out of 26,500 on the trip and marking the first South student in any world language to have received this award.
“The national selection committee found Christine’s achievements outstanding and was impressed with her enthusiasm,” said Judy Hollandsworth, a British literature and media relations teacher at the school on Peachtree Parkway.
As part of the award, Yang will receive round-trip air transportation to Germany, will live with a Germany family for three weeks, will attend classes at a Germany high school and will participate in excursions to places of cultural and historical significance.
