System releases school supply lists

Nearly a month of summer vacation remains, but Forsyth County’s schools have begun preparing for Aug. 11, the first day of the 2011-12 school year.

Each school has posted detailed lists of the supplies students will need by grade level from kindergarten to eighth grade.

While it may be early, getting the information to parents allows them "time to find the best prices and beat the back-to-school rush that typically occurs the weekend before the first day of school," said Jennifer Caracciolo, system spokeswoman.

There are no lists for high school students, as supplies needed vary by class.

Their supplies will be detailed in their course folders on the online ANGEL system.

Information will also be provided when they receive their schedules.
