West Forsyth High School students recently took first place for their banner at a business leadership club conference held in Athens earlier this month.
The school’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) team won overall for its banner, in addition to students Lauren Hale, Cooper McCoy and Roshan Patel finishing first in the state in the computer problem solving event.
Student Varun Kumar also finished first in the business communication event.
A team of students, Rishi Nair, Yash Vaidya and Austin Nguyen, finished second in the testing event, “Introduction to FBLA,” and five students, Jillian Carson, Courtney Maynard, Lauren Hale, Zach Szvetecz and Varun Kumar earned the statesman award.
In total, only 50 FBLA members across the state earned this award.
Georgia FBLA, an affiliate of Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda, Inc., is a nonprofit “committed to preparing today’s students for success in business leadership.”
Each year, Georgia FBLA holds regional and state conferences, which serve as qualifiers for the national leadership conference.
