Fall fishing classic a success

Organizers of the North Georgia Crappie Anglers said the turnout was great for the recent 2017 Fall Children’s Fishing Classic.

The North Georgia Crappie Anglers recently hosted a 2017 Fall Children’s Fishing Classic Oct. 21, which encouraged young people to come out, pick up a pole and try their luck at angling.

Winners included Gage Nelson, first place, and Jayden Haff, second place in the bass category; Louie Meier, first place, and Mia Dewees, second place, for catfish; Kyler Hyde, first place, and Berkley Starr, second place, for crappie; and Harrison Hunt, first place, and Gracie Dickerson and Jayden Haff, tied for second place in the striper category.

According to its website, North Georgia Crappie Anglers is a non-profit club that aims to share information and experiences of Crappie fishing on Lake Sidney Lanier and other north Georgia lakes among its members and others.
