According to friends and family on social media, the body of a man originally from Gainesville was found after he was missing for more than two weeks in a Washington state park.

Cornelius “Casey” Zippro, 31, was in North Cascades National Park with a friend at the Colonial Creek Campground and was last seen June 16 at site No. 3 near Diablo Lake, according to family.

According to friends and family, a body was discovered Tuesday evening and the family received confirmation Thursday that it was Zippro.

In the social media posts, the family said no foul play was suspected.

The Times was unable to get further details or confirmation from law enforcement.

“According to family, he was reported missing approximately 4 p.m. Sunday (June 17) by his friend, who told authorities the two had an argument, so the friend left to go on a hike alone. When he returned, Zippro’s tent and backpack were still at the campsite, but there was no sign of him,” according to an earlier news release.
