BUFORD — The family of a missing Buford man is offering $10,000 for information that leads to finding him.

Kelly Nash, 25, was reported missing about 7 a.m. Monday, last seen a few hours earlier by his girlfriend Jessica Sexton.

Sexton told Gwinnett County Police that Nash was playing video games about 4 a.m. in the living room of his home on Jimmy Dodd Road, which is off Buford Dam Road near Lake Lanier.

She told him to get some sleep, as he had a persistent cough, according to the report.

Nash is a 2008 graduate of Lakeview Academy in Gainesville, and members of the school have been participating in the search. Nash is currently enrolled at Georgia Gwinnett College.

“We’ve had an outpouring of people that has just been phenomenal,” father Alan Nash said Wednesday night.

“We just want to tell them how much we appreciate their efforts and their prayers. I don’t know where we would be right now in any way without all these people.”

Lakeview basketball coach Seth Vining worked with Kelly Nash all four years he was on the varsity basketball team. Vining has helped pass out materials in the Sugar Hill and Flowery Branch areas to help find him.

“[Kelly Nash] was a hard worker,” Vining said. “... He took care of his responsibilities both in school and athletics, a good person and a good teammate.”

Lakeview employees, former classmates and friends have been out looking for Kelly Nash since his disappearance.

“Everybody wants to do everything they can to help,” Vining said

Kelly Nash left the house without his cellphone, wallet or truck. His car keys and 9 mm handgun are missing, according to the report.

The garage door that was used for exiting and entering the home, according to the report, was slightly ajar. No signs of struggle or forced entry were evident.

Alan Nash asked people with information to call (678) 936-2483, which is a telephone number managed by a close family friend.

The missing man’s father said the search groups have been methodically scanning the area with flyers in hand, scouring a 3- to 5-mile area around Kelly Nash’s home.

The creation of the Facebook page “Kelly Nash Missing,” has created a large number of possible leads, Alan Nash said. A highly successful search dog unit, he said, was also being employed in the search.

“They’re going to put dogs back out … and probably work tomorrow as well,” Alan Nash said Wednesday.

Alan Nash offered this statement to his son and anyone with information on Kelly:

“If Kelly is able to read this or anyone knows Kelly or knows where he is, just tell him that we love him. There’s nothing that we can’t work through.

“If there’s any issues, there’s nothing we can’t get past. We want him home. There’s no repercussions. Just come home. We want you safe at home.”

Nash was last seen wearing blue plaid pajama pants and a T-shirt. Nash is 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighs 230 pounds with brown hair and blue eyes.

Anyone who encounters Nash is asked by authorities to call 911, and anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call (770) 513-5300.
