NORTH FORSYTH – One fatality has been confirmed in a two-vehicle wreck that has shut down Keith Bridge Road (Hwy. 306) at Leland Drive in north Forsyth, authorities said.

Several people were trapped in their vehicle as Forsyth County emergency personnel attempted to get them out Friday morning, according to Epifanio Rodriguez, a spokesman for the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

The deceased victim was a female who was in a Hyundai SUV, though no further details were available while crews continued to work the scene. She was pronounced dead on scene.

A male was injured and taken to an area hospital by helicopter.

The wreck involved a head-on collision between the Hyundai and a Toyota pickup truck.

Drivers are asked to avoid the area as crews continue to help those involved.
