GAINESVILLE — Expect traffic delays Wednesday on Dawsonville Highway as filming for a movie, "Goosebumps," starring Jack Black, takes place in Hall, Forsyth and Jackson counties.

But if you’re planning to head to the area instead of avoid, take note that Black and other principle stars won’t be on site.

"None of the principle actors are going to be there, and there won’t be celebrity sightings," said Stacey Dickson, Hall County Camera Ready liaison. "It will be faraway camera shots ... of cars that are being driven by stuntpeople."

A chase scene will be filmed using the locations, Dickson said.

Traffic will be slowed on Ga. 53/Dawsonville Highway from Lake Ranch Court to Marina Drive in Hall, including the bridge over the Chattahoochee River, according to a Georgia Department of Transportation press release.

Motorists also can expect to hit the brakes on Ga. 53 between Dogwood Path in Forsyth and Little Hall Road at Little Hall Park in Hall, including the bridge over the Chestatee River.

Finally, delays are expected on Ga. 11/U.S. 129/Jefferson Bypass between Galilee Church Road in Jefferson and Park Street in Arcade.

Filming will begin in Hall and Forsyth, then move to Jackson.

The film crew’s work will require intermittent traffic stops of up to 5 minutes between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., according to the DOT, which recommends motorists avoiding the areas if possible.
