FORSYTH COUNTY — Forsyth County firefighters will wrap up their annual “Give Burns the Boot” drive on Saturday.

On Saturdays in May, they have been accepting donations for the Georgia Firefighters Burn Foundation at various Forsyth County intersections.

Donations dropped in the boots will go toward fire safety and prevention education, medical facilities and assistance for burn survivors.

A portion of money raised will also go to Camp Oo-U-La, the state’s only camp for children with burn injuries.

Forsyth is one more than 100 fire departments in Georgia to take part in the drive, and a portion of the money raised will go toward local fire prevention and education efforts.
