Forsyth County home destroyed in overnight fire
Stockings are one of the few things left

A west Forsyth County family’s home was completely destroyed in a fire early Sunday morning, according to local fire department officials.

According to Division Chief Jason Shivers, spokesman for the Forsyth County Fire Department, firefighters responded to a residence off Dr. Bramblett Road at 4:55 a.m. and found the home engulfed in heavy fire.

Shivers said that the family of three adults and one young child were evacuated and unharmed by the fire, but due to the severity of the damage, all have been displaced to nearby relatives.

One firefighter sustained minor injuries in fighting the blaze, but according to Shivers they are stable and expected to make a full recovery.

Shivers said that the incident is currently under investigation, but at this point, it is not suspicious and likely accidental.

Recovery efforts have already begun for the family,  Shivers said that the Red Cross has already responded to provide for their basic needs.

A spokesperson for the family told the FCN that donated items can be dropped off at 1595 Dr Bramblett Road.

A GoFundMe page has been created to help the family.
