Forsyth County News wins 5 Georgia APME awards

FORSYTH COUNTY – The Forsyth County News editorial staff won five awards, including three first-place awards, in the Division II newspaper category of the Georgia Associated Press Media Editors annual contest for its work in 2015.

Creative imagery director Micah Green won three individual awards, including first place for best feature photo for his shot called “Surgery in a Reflection” (top of page 18 in this link) and best photo illustration for his shot called “Phases.”

Green also won second place in the photo illustration category for his shot called “Kicking It.”

Staff writer Kayla Robins won first place for best non-deadline reporting for her series, “Heroin’s Hold: A Look Inside Addiction.”

Robins, Green and Paul Dybas, director of video production, won second place in the multimedia coverage of a single story category for their coverage of Ghost Out at North Forsyth High School, an annual DUI crash reenactment put on for high school students to prevent drunk driving.
