Law enforcement and public safety agencies in Forsyth County want to join in the season of giving.
The Georgia State Patrol Post 37 is opening a month-long drive in support of the Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program.
A collection box will be set up in the lobby of the post, 4055 County Way, until Dec. 20. People are encouraged to bring in a new, unwrapped toy for a child in need.
On Tuesday, there is a planned child safety seat check and toy drive from noon-3 p.m. at the Walmart in Cumming.
The Forsyth County Fire Department and Sheriff’s Office will be assisting the event.
Checks can be made out to Marine Toys for Tots Foundation.
“You can help make this a Christmas to remember and a dream come true for a child who might otherwise be forgotten,” said Jody Caldwell with the state patrol. “Remember that Christmas is about the joy of giving.”
