CUMMING – A 14-year-old girl was killed and three other teens – one who is pregnant – were injured in a car crash near the Buford Dam Thursday evening.

The single-vehicle wreck occurred at 6 p.m. Thursday on Buford Dam Road at the entrance to Lower Pool, when the car partially overturned and came back onto all four wheels before crashing, Forsyth County Sheriff’s Cpl. Robin Regan said.

The 14-year-old, who was a passenger in the vehicle, was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Two teenage females – one driver and one passenger who is pregnant – were seriously injured and transported to a hospital by ambulance.

A medical helicopter was initially called but canceled because a Gwinnett County medical unit arrived quickly enough, Regan said.

A teenage male passenger was also taken to a hospital with what were described as non-life threatening injuries.

Parents of everyone involved have been notified, but names have not yet been released to give them time to contact other family members, Regan said.

Details about the circumstances of the crash were not immediately available, as the incident remains under investigation.

Buford Dam Road was partially blocked while emergency crews worked the scene.
