For more information on the 9th annual Sheriff Ted Paxton Golf Tournament, call Capt. Tim House at (770) 781-3045 or send an e-mail to tjhouse@forsythco.com.

The 9th annual Sheriff Ted Paxton Golf Tournament is scheduled for Monday at the Windermere Golf Club.

Registration begins at 9 a.m., with a shotgun start at 11 a.m.

Proceeds from the event will go toward the Georgia Sheriffs’ Youth Homes.

Forsyth County Sheriff’s Capt. Tim House said those who want to participate can sign up at the club Monday.

"We’re also still looking for donations and door prizes," House said.

He noted the event is also held in memory of Sheriff’s Sgt. David P. Land, who died in a 2003 motorcycle crash while on duty.

The event includes a 50/50 drawing and door prizes. Players will have the chance to win a new car for a hole in one.

Lunch and dinner will be provided.

"Rain or shine, we’re playing golf at 9 a.m.," said House, adding that the event is a first for him.

"I understand it’s a good time had by all."
