Golf WEB

FORSYTH COUNTY – A golf tournament this week will help support a local woman’s battle with cancer.

From 9 a.m.-3 p.m. on Thursday, the Southern Hospitality Foundation will host a golf tournament at Hampton Golf Village to benefit Lindsey Edwards Kochinski, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in January 2015. Registration for the event begins at 8 a.m.

Kochinski is a graduate of North Forsyth High School and the University of North Georgia.

She is married to Johnny Kochinski, co-owner of Maxwell Street Chicago Eatery and formerly Johnny B’s. Her diagnosis came just six weeks before the couple’s planned wedding date, and a ceremony has not yet been held due to focusing on her treatment.

Recently, she began a stem cell transplant process.

The golf tournament will begin with a shotgun start and is a scramble format. Prizes will be awarded for first, second and third place winners.
Tickets are still available, but running out. All purchases must be made no later than noon on Wednesday.

Donations are also being accepted online.

Raffle tickets and mulligans can be purchased at the event.

Hampton Park Village is located at 6310 Hampton Golf Drive.
