CUMMING -- A Forsyth County grand jury recently indicted a Suwanee man on charges of marijuana trafficking and possession with intent to distribute after more than 10 pounds of the drug were seized from his vehicle in Cumming.

Roger Christopher Lamachia, 25, was also indicted on possession of THC, possession of THC with intent to distribute and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony.

Lamachia was arrested June 21 after a deputy initiated a traffic stop and noticed Lamachia was sweating heavily and fumbling to light a cigarette, a Forsyth County incident report said.

Lamachia, who was pulled over for speeding on Ga. 400 northbound by Buford Dam Road, reportedly told the deputy he was heading to his father’s church to make sure the building was locked.

A K-9 police dog reportedly alerted deputies to the scent of drugs, who then searched his car and found the marijuana, THC and gun.

More than 10 pounds of marijuana were found in the car and seized, the indictment said.

Forsyth County Superior Court Judge Jeffrey S. Bagley will preside over the case.
