A local group is hoping to make Forsyth County a little spookier place this Halloween and help a good cause in the process.
Organizers with the Cumming Scare Fair, a new haunted attraction coming to the Cumming Fairgrounds this year, are seeking volunteers to help pull off the event, in particular scare actors. Other opportunities for volunteers include guest services, costume and make-up design and the build and tech crews.
Anyone interested in participating is encouraged to attend a meeting at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 12, at the fairgrounds.
The event, which will run from 8 p.m. to midnight on Oct. 18-19 and Oct. 25-26, is in association with Relay for Life and will feature music, vendors and food trucks but the highlight is a walk-through haunted attraction called “The Village.”
Proceeds from the event will benefit the American Cancer Society.
