Investigators are looking into the death of a Forsyth County Jail inmate after the 40-year-old man was found deceased early Sunday morning.

Timothy Theodore Weidler, of Auburn, Ga., was found lying in his bed unresponsive at 4:30 a.m. on Sunday, as jail deputies woke the inmate population for morning breakfast, according to a press release from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office.

The release states that when Weidler did not respond, medical personnel responded and he was pronounced deceased.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Cpl. Doug Rainwater said Sunday afternoon that at this point there does not appear to be anything suspicious about Weidler’s death, but Forsyth County Sheriff Ron Freeman has requested the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to conduct a death investigation.

Weidler’s body has been transported to the GBI Crime Lab in Atlanta by the Forsyth County Coroner and his family has been notified, according to the release.

Rainwater said that Weidler was being held in the jail on a probation violation.

Court records show that Weidler had previously been charged with possession of methamphetamine and reckless driving in 2016.
