A community improvement organization wants to help Forsyth County residents get rid of their old electronics and paint.
On Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., Keep Forsyth County Beautiful will hold an electronics and paint recycling event at parking lot 3 of the Cumming Fairgrounds.
The group is asking for a $5 minimum donation per carload, with an additional $20 fee per television and a $5 fee for computer monitors.
Electronics such as stereos, laptops, cell phones, printers and gaming consoles will be accepted at the event, though items that are only powered by electricity, like kitchen appliances, hair dryers and vacuum cleaners, will not be accepted.
Large wooden console and projection TVs also will not be accepted.
KFCB will also accept oil and latex-based paints in the original containers. The disposal costs for latex paint is $10 for a 5-gallon bucket, $5 for a 2-gallon bucket, $3 for a 1-gallon can or $5 for two and $1 for a 1-quart can or smaller.
The cost for oil-based paints are $15 for a 5-gallon bucket, $4 for a 1-gallon can or $6 for two, $2 for a 1-quart can, and $1 for a 1-pint can.
Spray paint cans can be recycled for $1 each.
