A healthy day of play

What: The YMCA is hosting the Healthy Kids Day Festival to celebrate healthy kids, families and communities. Enjoy music games, food and fun for the whole family, including a kids’ obstacle course and inflatables, teddy bear hospital for stuffed animals, bike safety station with helmet checks, healthy refreshments and smart snacks, a petting zoo, climbing walls and more.

When: Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Where: Denmark High School, at 645 Mullinax Road in Alpharetta.

Art time in the springtime

What: The Sawnee Association of the Arts will kick off its week-long ‘Springtime in the City’ arts event with exhibits of original art, painting, pottery, photography, jewelry, woodworking along with artist demonstrations, classes and live entertainment.

When: Saturday, April 27, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Where: Brannon-Heard House, at 111 Pilgrim Mill Road in Cumming.

Cost: Free entry


 Farmer for a day

What: Warbington Farms is hosting an event to give kids a real look at the life of a farmer. There will be workshops about honey sees, soil conservation, gardening along with a demonstration from the Georgia Mobile Dairy Classroom that features a fully-operational milking parlor containing a live cow for milking and feeding demonstrations.

When: Saturday, April 27, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Where: Warbington Farms, at 5555 Crow Road in Cumming.

Cost: Free with cost of admission ($5 for adults, $9 for kids).
