Bark and Boogie Ball set for Saturday night

FORSYTH COUNTY — Want to will help animals in need of a home? All you have to do is dance the night away Saturday.

The 11th annual Bark and Boogie Ball to benefit the Humane Society of Forsyth County No-Kill Shelter is set for 6 p.m.-midnight at the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center.

Touted as a black-tie event, its features include an open bar, gourmet dinner, live band, dancing and entertainment.

Silent and live auctions will showcase bargains on trips to exotic locations, weekend getaways, jewelry, artwork, home décor and furnishings, themed gift baskets, professional services, pet-related products and more.

A sell-out-crowd of more than 500 people is expected.

Tickets are $120 a person or $1,100 for a table of 10.

Proceeds from the event will help cover shelter operations, feeding the animals, veterinary care, education and community outreach programs.

The Humane Society is a nonprofit, volunteer organization that rescues abandoned dogs and cats, providing them with veterinary care and placing them in permanent homes through adoption.

The nonprofit does not receive any funding from the county government, the state of Georgia, the Humane Society of the U.S. or any other organization.
