Forsyth County commuters may encounter icy conditions on roads tonight and Tuesday morning, according to the National Weather Service.
The area has experienced steady rain since Friday, though it escaped the snow that fell on parts of north Georgia this past weekend, but leftover moisture from that rain combined with temperatures dropping into the upper 20s to lower 30s could lead to slick or icy spots on roads as well as other surfaces.
There is a 70 percent chance of rain until 1 a.m. on Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.
The National Weather Service said in a statement that threats for black ice and slick spots will diminish Tuesday morning as temperatures rise to an eventual high near 50 degrees. Tuesday is expected to mostly clear and sunny.
