CUMMING — Three local third-graders were recently selected by the Forsyth County Fire Department as the winners of its sixth annual fire safety poster contest.

The students, front row from left, included Amanda Barnaby from Big Creek Elementary and Madison Lauria and Luke Talbert, both from Brookwood Elementary.

The young artists will receive a certificate and a pizza party with their classmates and firefighters.

In addition, they were recognized by the Forsyth commission, above, and their artwork will be displayed in county buildings.
