Sharon Forks Library just got a new piano with an artistic flair.

Local high school art students recently completed the second installation of a painted piano through Pianos for Peace, an Atlanta-area nonprofit organization “that aims to achieve peace and promote philanthropy through art, music and education,” according to its website.

Camille Argarin, Ashley Handschumacher, Lina Jin, Maya Schoffeitt, Elijah Tagaan and Grace Ward of South Forsyth High School and Daniel Jang, Devin Marquess and Elin Zhou of Lambert High School covered the concert piano in a bird’s-eye view of a koi pond scene with carp drifting in the water and lily pads accentuated by white flowers floating on top.

The piano will be in the library’s children’s area through Sept. 22, and a concert is planned for 7-8 p.m., Sept. 17 with the Lambert Chamber Orchestra and Pianos for Peace CEO and founder Malek Jandali.
