Bellbottoms and peace signs will be back in style Friday during “Back to Woodstock,” a benefit for Forsyth County Family Haven.
The second annual event returns following a great turnout in its inaugural fundraiser, said Tara Hall, executive director of Family Haven.
“Last year, we had a few people dress up in the spirit of Woodstock,” Hall said. “This year, we’re asking people to dress up because it was so much fun.”
The event at the Reid Barn will also feature live music, food and items for auction.
Tickets can be purchased for $25 in advance or at the door. A cash bar will also be available.
Hall said the fundraiser is Family Haven’s largest of the year, with all the proceeds benefitting the families served by the organization.
The nonprofit provides shelter and other services for victims of domestic violence.
Donations are important to the organization, which also receives grant and government funding, Hall said.
“When we have the support of the community in events such as this, then we’re able to not be so heavily dependent on those grants,” she said.
“If there’s ever a time they’re no longer offering those grants, we’ll have the support of the community to keep the shelter doors open.”
