Forsyth Community Connection is inviting folks to a night of dinner and dancing for a cause Saturday.

The second annual Hearts & Hands Gala at the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center aims to build on last year’s momentum, said Nicole Morgan, executive director.

“It should be a fun evening of wine pairings and great food,” Morgan said. “… But it also really is an evening of giving and awareness in the community of the needs that are out there.”

Community Connection is a partnership between various nonprofits and entities such as city and county government, the local school system, churches and public and private service providers.

The nonprofit includes Hands On Forsyth, which matches volunteers with various charitable organizations needing assistance.

The gala will feature live music from the Oswald Brothers Band, J. Lohr Wines paired with a custom catered meal from Tam’s Backstage Restaurant and a silent auction with two international trips.

Funds for the organization will also be raised through the auction and a giving tree, which will be decorated with items needed for county nonprofits.

“It’s requests just for our offices, ranging from a ream of paper to a new laptop,” Morgan said.

She expects about 140 guests to attend the black-tie affair, for which tickets must be purchased in advance.
