On Saturday, Knights of Columbus Council 13161, which meets at Church of the Good Shepard on Holtzclaw Road, donated $5,000 to a trio of local groups, with Forsyth County Special Olympics receiving $2,500, Family Haven of Forsyth County accepting $1,500 and $1,000 being donated to St. Vincent de Paul Society at Good Shepard.

“We also had a barbecue that day. I invited some people from the Special Olympics and they came and brought four or five athletes from the Special Olympics,” said Tony Caruso, with Knights of Columbus. “We presented the check to them, and Family Haven was there, and we were happy to present to them.”
