Elvis will be crooning for the cats and dogs tonight.

An impersonator is scheduled to perform during “You Ain’t Nothing but a Pound Dog,” a dinner fundraiser for the Humane Society of Forsyth County.

For $20, guests can enjoy a pound of chicken wings, garlic toast, soda and the sounds of Anthony Ergas, an Elvis impersonator, at Black Diamond Grill.

Michele Leyland, event organizer, said Ergas is known as a “tribulator” because he focuses on emulating Elvis’ singing and music.

“He even has his own hair and sideburns so he doesn’t have to wear a wig,” Leyland said.

The event will raise awareness for the humane society and money for the spay and neuter assistance program.

The program helps low-income families spay and neuter their pets, with an ultimate aim of lowering the community’s pet population.

“The idea is the people who can’t afford to get their pets spayed and neutered are the ones most likely to keep bringing in puppies and kittens,” Leyland said.

People can reserve seats in advance or purchase them at the door.
