In honor of Earth Day, Keep Forsyth County Beautiful invites the community to an open house Tuesday to learn more about the organization and its offerings.

The event is set for 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Coal Mountain Recycling Convenience Center. As part of the open house, visitors can also tour the recycling facility.

“We invite citizens, clubs, organizations and businesses to attend this informational event designed to highlight what KFCB does in the community,” said Tammy Wright, environmental program manager. “It is an opportunity for us to connect with potential new volunteers, board members, committee members and sponsors.”

KFCB works with government, businesses, schools, civic organizations and residents on recycling, beautification and litter reduction efforts.

Some of the group’s offerings include the Adopt-A-Road and Adopt-A-Stream programs, electronics recycling and educational presentations.

The Coal Mountain center is at Coal Mountain Park, 3560 Settingdown Road.
