Two Forsyth County residents have been named 2011 Local Goodwill Ambassadors for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.Tara Ingold and Hannah Stacks, both of Cumming, will make public appearances in the community to encourage volunteers in the association’s year-round educational and fundraising campaigns.They will also take part in a number of the association’s local special events. One of MDA’s largest efforts is the annual Muscle Walk, where everyone is encouraged to "make a muscle, make a difference."Hannah is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jason Stacks, while Tara is the daughter of Joan Thull.Both girls have been diagnosed with one of the neuromuscular diseases covered by MDA’s research and care programs.The MDA is a voluntary health agency working to defeat neuromuscular diseases through programs of worldwide research, services and professional and public health education. The association funds some 350 research projects in the U.S. and abroad each year.
