WEST FORSYTH — To kick off a new free video streaming service from the Forsyth County Public Library System, the Post Road branch will be holding a free viewing of an Alfred Hitchcock movie at 2 p.m. Saturday.

World Cinema will feature foreign and domestic movies, and will include films from notable foreign directors like Hitchcock, Fritz Lang, Akira Kurosawa, Satyajit Ray and others.

Linda Kelly, the library system’s assistant director for materials, said in a statement that many visitors “have requested films in other languages.”

“And there is definitely a local audience that enjoys foreign films, so we believe our patrons will like [it],” she said.

World Cinema will be available on the library system’s website as a free trial until June, at which point the system will assess whether to continue offering it.

All foreign language movies, video clips and TV shows will have English subtitles.
