A local women's service organization is preparing for its annual fundraiser.

The Sawnee Woman's Club will hold Nite in Olde Cumming, the group's 26th annual fundraising event, on May 14 at the Lanier Technical College Forsyth Conference Center.

The theme of the event is "It's 5 o'clock Somewhere." Guests are invited to wear Key West casual attire as they enjoy festive food, margaritas, dancing and a silent auction.

Club members are finalizing event details and collecting donations for the silent auction and sponsorships ranging from $250 to $2,500.

"We want our guests to come and have a good time, but we also want them to get a better understanding of how the Sawnee Woman's Club serves our community," said Wendy Goodrow, event director.

Funds raised from the event will benefit the club's activities and projects, which support more than 25 local charitable groups.

According to a report from the club, the organization has given more than 87,000 service hours and $400,000 to support children and families since 1985.
