Col. Oliver North will present a Father’s Day message at First Redeemer Church, 2100 Peachtree Pkwy., at 9:15 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The event is free and open to the public.
SOUTH FORSYTH — A well-known U.S. Marine and conservative television personality will address a south Forsyth church on Sunday.
Col. Oliver North will present a special Father’s Day message during the 9:15 a.m. contemporary service and the 10:45 a.m. blended service at First Redeemer Church, 2100 Peachtree Pkwy.
Patty Redding, assistant to the senior pastor, said this will be North’s third visit to First Redeemer. He’s drawn large crowds each time.
“He is a genuine man that really speaks from his heart and really encourages people,” Redding said. “He’s a man with a lot of integrity and someone who is a real role model, so we love having him here at First Redeemer.”
Redding said church leaders were notified earlier in the spring that North would be in the area again this month.
“We were lucky enough to have him agree to come and be with us on Father’s Day,” she said.
North will be signing copies of his latest book, “Counterfeit Lies,” after both services, but Redding noted the message will not focus on the book.
“He will be speaking to the men, encouraging all the husbands and fathers in attendance and challenging them,” Redding said. “It’s a Father’s Day message.”
Redding said she expects the church’s 2,000-seat auditorium to be filled for both services.
“It’s open to the whole community and it’s free admission, so it will be a very exciting morning,” she said.
